Bengali Puran

Bengali Puran refers to a collection of ancient Hindu religious texts written in the Bengali language, which originated in the Bengal region of eastern India and present-day Bangladesh. The word “Puran” means ancient or old, and the texts are believed to have been written between the 16th and 19th centuries.

The Bengali Purans are a part of the Puranic genre of Hindu literature, which consists of a vast corpus of mythological and historical texts. They cover a wide range of subjects, including the origin of the universe, the genealogy of gods and kings, the lives of saints and sages, and various religious practices and rituals.
