Biography of Binoy Badal Dinesh

Binoy Badal Dinesh, also known as BBD, were three young revolutionaries who played a significant role in the Indian independence movement. They were Binoy Krishna Das, Badal Gupta, and Dinesh Gupta. They were born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, in the early 20th century and died in a revolutionary action against British colonialism on December 13, 1930.

The trio joined the Bengal Volunteers, a revolutionary organization dedicated to India’s freedom struggle against the British Empire. They were involved in several acts of revolutionary violence against the British, including the assassination of a British police officer named Simpson in 1930.

However, their most famous action was the attack on the Secretariat Building in Writers’ Building, Kolkata, on December 8, 1930, which came to be known as the ‘Writers’ Building Saga.’ They entered the building, disguised as Europeans, and shot dead three senior British police officers.

The British police caught up with the trio in the building, leading to a gunfight, where Dinesh Gupta shot himself, and the other two were caught. Binoy Krishna Das and Badal Gupta were later sentenced to death by hanging, which they accepted without seeking any mercy.

The sacrifice of Binoy Badal Dinesh was a significant inspiration for the Indian independence movement. The trio became legendary figures of the anti-colonial struggle, inspiring a generation of young revolutionaries who wanted to end British rule in India.

Today, Binoy Badal Dinesh is remembered as brave and selfless patriots who gave their lives to the cause of Indian independence. Their legacy continues to inspire people to fight for justice and freedom against all forms of oppression.
