Biography of Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein (14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955) was a theoretical physicist widely considered to be one of the most important scientists of the 20th century. In 1895, he enrolled in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, where he studied physics and mathematics.
After graduating in 1900, Einstein struggled to find employment as a scientist and worked as a patent clerk in Bern, Switzerland. During this time, he continued to develop his theories of physics, including his groundbreaking theory of special relativity, which he published in 1905. This theory revolutionized the way physicists thought about time and space, and it laid the groundwork for later developments in modern physics.
In 1915, Einstein published his theory of general relativity, which expanded on the ideas in special relativity to describe the nature of gravity. This theory also had significant implications for our understanding of the structure of the universe.
